Homestyle Center Cut Pork Chops with Spiced Apples

Homestyle Center Cut Pork Chops with Spiced Apples

Ingredients

For Chops
6 each                    Center Cut Pork Chops - Bone-In
1+ Tsp                    Lawry's Seasoned Salt

For Spiced Apples
5 Cups                    Firm Fleshed Apples chopped in 1/2" Chunks
4 TB                        Butter
1/2 Tsp                   Salt
1 Tsp                       Ground Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp                   Ground Nutmeg
1/2 C                      Brown Sugar
1/4C                       Maple Syrup

Preheat oven to 400¢ª. Lightly season both sides of chops with seasoned salt. Allow the chops to rest at room temperature about 15 minutes.

Melt the butter in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the apples and salt and sautee, about 5 minutes turning frequently. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and maple syrup, stirring well to combine. Bring to light boil and cook, stirring frequently until the apples are well cooked and sauce is a thick syrup, approximately 10-15 minutes.

Heat a large pan over medium high to high heat (nonstick not recommended to form a good crust). Depending on the size of the pan, you will likely need to do this in several batches. When the pan is hot, add the pork chops and allow to sear without moving for approximately 5 minutes or until the chops begin to release themselves from the pan.  Flip and cook the other side an additional 2-3 minutes until a crust forms. Place the chops on a lightly greased baking sheet and transfer to oven. Cook and 2-10 minutes until the internal temperature of the chop reaches 160¢ª.

Serve immediately topped with the spiced apples, and sides of your choice.  Serves 4-6
